Spearhead Militaria...you can find them on Ebay. Decent quality of wool and cheap.
Let me give you a run down on the differences...an M43 is about an 80% match for a Finn M36, but like I said before, it's the best we can do at the moment. The Finn cap is rounder in shape than the M43, so it sits more "squarely" on your head than the German cap does. The Finn cap also has wider button flaps than the German cap and the dome is a bit lower...the last two are particularly noticable on the conversion cap but I don't have the willpower to completely cut up and redesign the cap. To a Layman, it won't be noticable but to me these little differences make an important difference. But that's just me being a Stitch-Nazi!
I'll try to post a pic of my conversion when I get a chance.

Are those the shitty modern plastic buttons? Or the period metal buttons? All I've been able to find are the postwar plastic buttons and they look absolutely horrible. I have to ask the same about the cockades...modern plastic "nipple cockade" or the flatter metal wartime ones? The plastic cockades and to a lesser extent the plastic buttons have been banished from this unit for authenticity reasons.

Okay great! I'm not saying you deal in shitty stuff, not even implying it. Just wanted to know if you were using the plastic buttons. It's not that big of deal.

These are the small metal buttons, correct? If so, I would love to purchase some from you for my cap and summer tunic
