Greetings from the (still) frozen north! My name is Adrian Rosenlund, and i live in Sweden. I have recently joined a group portraying the 5th fältjägare regiment during the continuation war, founded and led by a Finnish friend of mine. My surname is Finnish, which i took when i married my wife, and i took my soldier name from my wife's great uncle, Walte, who fell a few days before the end of the war. I look forward both to meeting you all on this forum, and an exchange of ideas and information in this excellent subject. If you haven't heard of it already, see the film Tali Ihantala 1944 //Adrian

Hey Adrian,
Good to know you! What exactly is your unit? Finnish volunteers or Swedish Finns?
Take care,
Thor

Hej Thor! It's the 5:e Ilves (lynx) Divisionen, a Finnish Fältjägare unit. There is a gang here recreating Swedish volunteers, i.e Frivilligakåren, however, with whom we are going to be working at some point in time, i suppose. We are already planning trips across the Baltic to the homelands to, as my friend Joacim put it, put up some tents, and live the soldier's life. If you have Facebook, look us up. have a good weekend! //Adrian

Hi my name is Jesse and I'm new to the reenacting world. I've been doing WW 2 Candian for a year now. I've been very interested in the Finnish involvement in the Second World War for some time. I'm looking forward to starting a Finnish infantry impression!

Hi, I'm Erik a dutch WWII airsoft player. Like Jesse I've done a Canadian WWII outfit for about a year. (Queens own Rifles) and I recently started putting a Finnish outfit together.
As I used the gear to play airsoft I prefer to use repro stuff as I feel like a criminal when doing what I do (airsoft) with gear that belongs in a museum.

Giday all,
My name is Monty. I currently reenact British WW1 and WW2 and love it. My grandfather served in the British New Zealand Army from 1914 to 1965. Though I am strongly pro-brith, I'm also intrested in the little countries that against all odds beat a large enemy and held on though whole wars (I.E. Belgium 1914 and Finland 1939). So I'm currently putting together a ww2 finnish impression and looking to help restart the finnish unit here in South Califorina once I have my kit.
I'm thinking of having the finnish name "Mauno Suhonen"

Monty,
Welcome and GOOD! We've talked a bit about this on the Facebook group but it would be great if you can wrangle the loose ends of Finnish reenacting in the Southland and restart the unit! Get with Christian and Matt about the details...they have the kit and need a bit of leadership!
